rx2660 VOLTAGE FAULT in System Log by BMC

Several VOLTAGE FAULT has been logged in system log. At a few occations there are also VOLTAGE OK messages logged, but the next VOLTAGE FAULT is logged about 22 hrs later.

Cannot see any other error messages, except at two occations some months ago, but seem not to be related. Message in those cases has been BOOT NOT DETECTED and OS had stopped. In each case a hard reset restarted the server. In those cases the VFP have displayed similar codes:

System         Int Health     Ext Health     Power

OFF            Flash Amber    On Green       On Green

and

Flash Red      Flash Amber    On Green       On Green

Have not been able to detect the root of the VOLTAGE FAULT - Any idea?

Hi hp support

when updating the firm ware using the hp smart firm ware update manager on windows 10

where i have extracted the firmware bundle from HP for a Integrity rx2800 i6  server i receive the following message in the install logs

cp032020 Online System, FPGA, ILO-3 MP and Power Monitor Firmware Windows Flash Component for HPE Integrity rx2800 i4/i6 and rx2900 i4/i6 Servers Update returned an error.

dns servers are available and configured in ilo, and all web access is wide open for the ilo vlan why does it fail on dns and show HTTP/s connect/open error

I’ve also tried the firm, ware update via the UP UX console via the command line and via the ILO 3 web interface and the smart update tool and all fail on dns and HTTP/s connect/open error

UP UX console command used

FW -url http://10.172.129.78/web-stack/cp032020.exe -force e and copied the bundle files to a local internal web server where the files can be downloaded

And with a valid ssl cert

FW -url https://${FQDN}/web-stack/cp032020.exe -force e

copied the all bundle files to a web server where the files can be downloaded via web browser

MSA 70 Inactive after rebooting of RX3600

I have replaced the core I/O card with PCIe slots to connect the MSA70.I upgraded the VMS8.3 to 8.31H1 and configure the MSA with raid 1.Now after restarting the system it inactive the storage and we have to activate it manually.

Also an eeror message appares when boot the system(waring(52).AROM  revision is inconsisting with FIT or REVBLOCK).

Ithe issue is due to this error and I have to update firmware.

Collecting ILO Event Logs

Hi,

Need to find a way to monitor the event logs from ILO for versions 2, 3 and 4. There are a couple hundred devices so need a central way to monitor this. Main concern is for user logins and account creations. Not concerned with the other syslog attributes for hardware monitoring. There is a SIEM but from what i've seen I haven't seen anyone that has posted a successful monitoring of logs specific to ILO event log. I'm sure this is possible. Any input will be appreciated.

Attaching MSA70 with Rx3600 runnibg VMS 8.21H1

I have installed the MSA70 with Rx3600 usingSAS controller with external port.I cinfigure the raid on MSA and it works ok.But when I restart the server the the IR voilume no changed i,e if it  wasUnit no 36 it become unit no 130 and the voume become inactive and not come on line after restarting the server.

So Ihave to manually activate the volume using SAS$UTIL  command.

I have 3 systems.It works good in one  and gives the problem on other two,only difference is that one is dual processor and other two are single process with 32GB RAM.

Help needed

ILO issue

HI,

I have HP RX2620 server.I cannot able to open the remote console from ILO web broweser.It is asking for a JAVA version upgrade.Please sugegst which JAVA version should be ideal for this hardware.

Also I can see the telnet is enable in post 23 in ILO web browser but I cannot able to do telnet also.The IP is pingable.

Please suggest.

ILO reboot problem

If the ILO configuration on a rX2800 i2 server is modified whilst the system is running,

 

  1. If the ILO configuration file is modified does the physical server reboot when the configuration is committed to Bios?
  2. If the ILO changes are committed are they effective immediately or after a system power cycle?

Need help understanding error message

We recently had a situation where all I/O to the systems SAN LUNS had stoped. The only errors we see in the the syslog are the following:

iLO3 firmware update using web browser - no file upload option

We are trying to update the iLO3 firmware using a web browser session to the iLO > Administration > Firmware Upgrade. There is no File upload box (like the one available on iLO4). We can only see a box for the URL. Is this normal? We are currently on iLO3 v 1.70

cpu"s failed in cell1 and cell0 on hp integrity rx 7640 server ( EFI SHELL)

Hi Team,

 

We are facing a issue reg cpu"s  failed in cell0 and Cell1  in EFI shell on HP integrity rx 7640 server. could you please have a look on it,how to solve this issue. On server, we have two cell boards. cell0 and cell1 , on cell1 we had 4 cpu's and on cell0 we had 3 cpu's.

we are login as MP and checked the Prcoesser status is showing available for all cell boards., but it is showing cpu failed error on EFI Shell.

The Server Model: HP Integrity rx 7640 server,

rx6600 hpux 11.31i after panic does not boot

Hello,
My rx6600 server (hpux 11.31i) does not boot up, looks like the boot process is not working?
The server went suddenly down after power unit failures. It got a panic. It is powered on now, the MP works, VFP says 'system booting' but no change after that. The MP console does not show anything. The event log shows BOOT_IVT_OFFSET.

Any thoughts how I can get this working?

Hello every one

I have two superdome2 16s . now I wanna upgrade the firmware to the latest one. do you have a step by step document for it? I wanna do it by my self.

also I have 64 CPU i6 and I wanna upgrade 16s to 32. can I do it with upgrade a firmware? I checked 32s with 16s . the server in both of them are same.the different is CPU and memory that I have both of them for 32s. do you know the upgrade procedure from 16s to 32s?

NFS error on SG cluster on HP_UX 11.31

Hi Team,

We have two node SG cluser (A.11..19) on HP-UX 11.31 . on the cluster 5 Packages are running. We are getting frequently erorr like nfs disconnecting from a all servers except the nfs server. please find the below log from all servers generatin the same error. I am requested to all, please guide how to resolve this issue, all are production servers.

for fourth system I do not have output and fifth system did not exhibit problem.

 

So far I have not been able to find anything w.r.t to ILO reboot due ILO_RST_REASON_WATCHG.

 

Systems in question did not have power outage at all, operating system has been running just fine. Os is OpenVMS V8.4 by the way.

 

ALL ILOs are connected to a private lan segment with no "network access" to rest of world.

 

Any advise appreciated

CPU Serial Numbers on a BL860c i4 running HP-UX 11i v3 VSE-OE

Running the the following command /opt/propplus/bin/cprop -list form HP-UX 11i v3 BOE, I'm able to see the serial numbers for the processor. Running the same command from HP-UX 11i v3 VSE-OE the virtual instances seem not to have the ability to see the underlying hardware.  Is there an upper layer host this command can  be run from or do I have to use the df command from the MP to get the serial number from the CPU's.

Hi Team, 

 

I am having ia64 hp server rx6600 server and while extending the VG it is showing me below error.

rx7640 ilo terminal problem

Hi All,

I used to connect to ILO on rp7640 using telnet, but sudenly the connection become like the following:

lt01@/home/tamimii/howto> telnet 10.148.90.50
Trying...
Connected to 10.148.90.50.
Escape character is '^]'.
Local flow control off
Connection closed by foreign host.

Then I couldn't connect to the terminal.

My questions:

- Can i reset the ILO terminal without rebooting it?

- If I need to reboot, do I need to do something to fix it?
