OpenVMS conversational boot does not work on rx2800 i2 server
Hi,
I have setup 2 rx2800 i2 servers and form a VMSCluster environment. The installation of the VMS Cluster has no problem. When I work to setup a conversational boot from both servers but it doesn't work. I use system boot_options to set it up but it go to nonstop bootup. I boot the server from EFI shell and use the command line to boot it, it still go in the non stop bootup. It looks like that the server boot manager cannot save the boot flags to 0,1.
Does anyone know what is the issue? Is it the server firmware issue?

/usr and /var file system got corrupted in hp-ux 11.31
Hi Team,
Server Model is Hp Integrity rx 7640 with 4 vpars ( virtual partition).
/usr and /var file systems are got corrupted, due to this error the server in not able boot. I ran below commands in single user mode.. please find below commands which I have executed.
login to Console :
# vparboot -p solman -o "is"
# fsck -F vxfs /dev/vg00/rlvol7
#fsck -F vxfs /dev/vg00/rlvol8
fsck -F vxfs -o full /dev/vg00/rlvol7
fsck -F vxfs -o full,nolog /dev/vg00/rlvol7
fsck -F vxfs -o full -y /dev/vg00/rlvol7
I am getteing below while executing above commands,
UX:vxfs fsck: ERROR: V-3-26117: bc_read failure devid=0, b no 3088, off=0, con =131072
please give support how to proceed further to restore the file systems.

Monitoring SDX with Insight Remote Support server
hello, we have deployed several SDX enclosures and added the OA to IRS server at customers site. the SDX documentation instructs to add the OAs. now all the partitions are showing up as unconnected.
DO we need to add these with credentials or will OA do the monitoring and we can ignore / delete the partition entries in the IRS console???

TCPIP SMTP failed to send out our own domain email
I have installed one VMS (Itanium rx2800i2) server on our data centre. The server came from US and I located in Canada. The server SMTP running fine before it moved to Canada. After the installation, I change the server SMTP alternate gateway to our site exchange server. I can send out any global emails (such as

Buying HP -UX 11i v3 BOE for RX4640

I bought an old server hp rx4640 for 160$ on the online auction, but I do not have the cd with the operating system for it.
I found the information that I need HPE HP -UX 11i v3, BOE, but I how no idea how the licensing works.
I was thinking about buying HPE HP -UX 11i v3, BOE, E-LTU from lambda-tek, but they have so many versions of HP-UX.
£212.86 - It isn't a too expensive product for me, and I can buy it.
However, they have more pricy versions of HPE HP -UX 11i v3, BOE on their website, and that could be more problematic.
I read that It depends on the number of cores in my computer, and then I have to choose what kind of version HP-UX can I install on this server.
Can you explain what kind of version of HP-UX BOE do I need for this computer?
I would like to learn about HP-UX at home, so I am interested to find the cheap and the most basic version of HP-UX. Any ideas?

RX7640 Basics needed
Hi ,
I have some simple basich questions for setting up a RX7640.
I got a used machine and need some help on the basics. I never worked with cells. Lst week I set up a rx6600 and it was quiet easy.
On the RX7640 I have some problems.
1. I want a simple installation
the first problem is info cell told me that cell 0 is active, cell 1 is ot listet
I tried cellconfig but I got the following error
cellconfig: Command cannot be executed. Invalid security mode
Q: how I have to set the sec mode

As I started the mp -> co told me that there two Disks. Ilearned that they are connectetd to Cell 0. The other Disk where not shown. I inserted a DVD rom but it was not listed like the both bottom Disks.
I tried some commands but turns not better, a now I could not see any Disk :-(
so how is the way to enable the HW and boot from DVD

Integrity server disk partitioning from array controller P410i
I am working to setup an integrity server rx2800i2 as a DR server and install total 8 SCSI local disks. The array controller of this server is P410i. I try to create 12 partition from a RAID 5 logical disk but I cannot find the way how can I do it. I am at the controller setup page but there is no option for disk partitioning. Does someone know what is the right way to create this? The operation system on this server is OPENVMS 8.4.

Memory used just 16% from 64 GB

Please help, we have RX6600 Server with 64 GB Memory and that server used for oracle database.
I beliave the server used more than 20 GB Memory usage for Oracle. The question is, why Memory Usage in swapinfo just used 16%?

RX2800 Itanium server firmware.
I'm looking for a firmware update for our i4 RX2800 server. We want to install the i6 CPUs but need to update the AT101A RX2800 server first. If anyone can point me in the right direction to get info on, it would be much appreciated.

RX2660 BMC glitches, server won't start
Recently, I turned on RX2660 server that was sitting offline for about 4 years and it didn't start: power button turns green and fans are spinning at maximum speed, but all other LEDs on front panel are off.
Replaced both batteries with fresh ones. Tried to disconnect power(with few minutes rest, with and without batteries). System board has DIAG2 LED blinking, which corresponds to "ETO fetch" status - what's on earth is that anyway?
Connected to MP via LAN (putty/telnet) and looks like all things related to BMC/IPMI are extremly unstable, so in 20-50 attempts, BMC-related commands succeed just once, and fail for the rest. For example, I had to execute "LOC -ON" command like 20 times before it finally turned UID LED on. Same for "PC -ON" command - it takes 20-30 attempts before server finally turns power on. And after issuing any command there is a delay of approx. 5 seconds before displaying the results.
I tried to issue RB (reset BMC) command, but since it returns immediately without returning success/failure I don't know if it really worked. So I executed it 50 times to be sure.
All logs are empty, except system event (3 irrelevant events) and iLO event (completely irrelevant entries). VFP says "Communication problem with BMC".
Below are the results of executing all relevant commands in MP. I'm providing 2 versions for those commands: one for when BMC fails (happens most of the time) and one for when BMC succeeds (lucky me).

Openssh downgrade from v7.4 to v6.2
Hi, We have done a recent upgrade due to vulnerability from 6.2 to 7.4. But some testing is not working so we want to revert back to 6.2. Let me know the steps for downgrade. I ran swremove in preview mode its shows 2 dependencies. Can we proceed with that set enforce dependencies to false.

V-Par on an Itanium RX8640 Server
Kind of an extension of pgupta101 thread.. I have a RX8640 running two N-pars, each N-par has 16-cores w/ 128GB memory and 2 x 300GB internal drives. My question is, what is the maximum amount of V-pars I can do on this server?
