HP Integrity rx2620 - no connection possible (RS232, LAN)

Hi,

 

I try to get a HP Integrity rx2620 running, but so far had no luck :(

 

I get no output from VGA (just a blinking cursor). If I use HTerm (Windows) I can see some garbage on the serial A output (9600 Baud 8N1) and if I use these settings in putty (with flow control XON/XOFF like the manual says) I get nothing. When I use a standard DB25 to DB9 serial adapter I also get nothing out of the serial of the MP (9600 8N1 no flow control) and I also can not connect to the MP over LAN.

 

What am I doing wrong?

Integrity RX2600 Firmware not loaded

Hello All,

 

I bought three used/refurbished servers. Two of those have same problem - upon boot time the system firmware code fetch LED on the system board does not come on. According "Operations and Maintanance Guide" it indicates that I "may have to replace the system board".

 

The last server shows everytime problem faulty MemBank B0 (during boot time I can see that on the RS232 output) - I swaped memory planks but error remained same all the time (BTW this server was working for long time at my side).

 

I have a question - Is it possible to solve those problems somehow? Is there some way to bypass faulty memory bank or repair controller or something else? Can I take spare parts from one system board and put those to other to fix either F/W no fetching problem or problem with faulty MemBank B0?

RX1620 DVD Boot issues

I have an issue booting a DVD on an RX1620 

 

the media in question will boot on an RX2660 (itanium) but not when used on either of two drives on an rx1620

the media is a dual-layer (> 4gb) DVD that has both the itanium and Risc installers on it, and has worked in PA-RISC systems as well

 

Does anyone have any suggestions?

 But utility doesn't show any difference even the adapter is unplugged

HP integrity rx1620: updating the firmware

I will go to upgrade my HP server firmware, so I read the doc "rx16x0_9_5_install_manual.txt" to get info about that. Although my server is not a corporative server, I use it to my technical and profissional researchs, and the hypothesis to have troubles scare me.

 

My simple question is: what is the firmware version to consider at the momento of the upgrade?

 

We can read on the help doc inside the upgrade package:

 

"This system firmware update will be aborted if the current iLO MP firmware

revision present on the system is less than E.02.29. In order to upgrade

system firmware using this package, first upgrade the iLO MP firmware to

E.02.29. Please follow the upgrade requirements below:

1 - Upgrades to iLO MP firmware revision E.02.29 will require updating to

iLO MP firmware revision E.02.26 first.

2 - iLO MP firmware must be at or upgraded to revision E.02.29 prior to

upgrading to iLO MP revision E.03.30."

 

 

My MP "sysrev" output:

HP Integrity RX2660 Boot Problem

The rx2660 server doesnt have signal video. 

 

The status leds are the next:

 

Power LED : Steady green

External health LED : Steady green

Internal health LED : Steady green

System health LED  : Blink between red and amber. one minute blinks red and the next blinks amber

What kind of server type that support HP UX B.11.23 is still orderable in 2015 ?

Hi,

 

We have rx2800 i2 and want to install it with OS HP UX B.11.23, but if we check on hp-ux support matrix it is not support with the OS

Now we consider to buy another server to replace rx2800, but as we know all server that support this release ( rx2660, rx6600, rx7640 ) currently are not orderable anymore.

 

Is there any one who know what kind of server type that support on this release which still orderable in 2015 ?

Integrity BL890c i4 server Some Nic Ports Down.

We have a Integrity BL890c i4 server, with a virtual connect configured, suddenly we have 3 nics down on the hpux 11.31 server, i'm going to use only 1 for the example lan8:

rx1620 efi hang

I am having a strange problem with a 1620 ( 1 cpu 1GB ram, no MP). The boot process hangs with the console output of "CPU0 loading EFI" the system light flashes green. Any ideas?

HP rx2660 boot issue

After some time, appears:
"BC was not started. BC was not started."

Hello all,  I have an Alert level 3 message indicating CC chip fan failing.

 

Physical Location: Processor fan Cabinet 0 cell 0 CPU 4

 

The diagram on the srever shows CPU 0 to 3 locations

 

My question is, should I be looking at this like a Raid?

where as 0 is 1 and 3 would be CPU4.

Strange Error accessing console via ilo

I have an HPUX 11i.v3 instance and I'm trying to log in vai the console in the ilo.  But, I get this strange error that says:

 

Server applet version is yyyyyyyy

local applet version is BC.03.08.

Server Pericom version is.

Local Pericom version is 2.0.1.5.

Applet or Pericom version mismatch between the local applet the browser already has, and what the server has to send to the browser. Close all browser instances and start the browser again.

 

I do notice the ilo says it requires a browser with java plugin 1.5.0_8 for the remote serial console.  While the server I'm accessing the ilo through says it has java version 7 Update 75.  Unfortunately, I don't have access rights on the server I need to use to access the ilo so I can't update the java version.

 

Any help about this error would be greatly appreciated.

How to change the mode in RAID?

I already update SAS io firmware at version 6.42, but the EFI Shell not recognize the "saupdate" command

HP Integrity rx2800 i2 console access with iLo

Boy could I use some help.  We have an HP Integrity rx2800 i2 machine (running HP-UX).  We also have a T620 iLo.  It is my understanding that I can get console access to the Integrity through the iLo.  I have not been able to do this.  I'm thinking it has something to do with the configuration of the iLo. 

 

The iLo is connected to a monitor, keyboard, and mouse through a KVA.  I'm pretty sure I'm on the iLo.  I get a Thin Client screen which shows a few icons on it.  I double click the one that is labelled rx2800i2 and a terminal type screen shows up.  It seems to be label as TeemTalkCE.  I would expect this to be the console to the Integrity, however when I press the Enter key nothing happens.  I'm thinking I don't have the correct configuration for the serial connection from the iLo to the Integrity.  (There is a 9 pin cable running from the |o|o| connector on the back of the iLo to the |o|o| connector on the back of the Integrity.)  The bottom of the TeemTalk screen shows Online and VT100.  If I go to Settings -> Serial... in the drop down, I see it set up as 9600 baud, 8 Data Bits, No Parity, 1 Stop Bit, No Flow Control, and a Terminal Rate of 9600.  I'm guessing these settings are not correct, but I don't really know.

 

Can anyone help me get access to my console?  I would really appreciate it.
