Hello I'm on a hp integrity rx7460 ( I know it's a old machin).

My goal is to prepare this server for a customer. I mean installing HP-UX 11 v3, configure auto boot after power failure.

the drama: with my laptop I can access MP via the MP LAN port, But I'm not finding the way to acces the EFI and proceeed to the OS installation.

Is there somebody who can help me? I thought ther was a way to procced to OS installation though the MP.

Please I really need help.

hi there,

recently, I downloaded HPE One View for vmware vCenter (OV4VC) v8.1 and  deployed its OVA.

everything at installation goes fine, and also adding vcenter and storages was straight forward.

but, at configuration step, I found out that its plug-in did not add to vcenter.

I have one vcenter 6.5 and one PSC.

no Error occured in no steps..

besides, all vcenter, ESXi servers, PSC and OV4VC have the same NTP configuration.

please help me know how I can add its plugin to vcenter,

thank you.

Where does sfmlog gets its information from?

When I run getsysinfo on Intergrity RX2800 I4 servers, it captures the SFMLOG to a text file. Could the information stored in SFM be old so if the OS is reloaded, a getsysinfo would show old Power Supply Failure Messages, Firmware update failure Messages, etc?

rx2800 i4 Firmware Update

Been a while since I installed server firmware.  What is the current best practice for updating firmware on a rx2800 i4?

Do I use SUM or put the FW on a memory stick and plug it into the server.  Would be nice to be able to update firmware remotely as I have servers all over the world.

Looking forward to the wisdom.

It used to work but suddenly I can no longer connect. No changes have been made configuration-wise. This is what I get.  11.31 rx8650 and I telnet from another box. I check the config at the MP prompt.

is this a network issue? Which directly do I dig in?

Hi,

A customer wants to replace their existing RX6600 servers with new ones that are just slightly higher. They would then keep the old ones for the DR site.

What is a recommended upgrade path from HP Integrity RX6600 server?

Please advice.

Firmware download

Good afternoon!

Our rx2660 server's firmware revision is too old - we would like to upgrade it. I know we must have a support contract with HP for downloading patches and firmwares. Do I need a Hardware or Software support contract for this? We are ready to buy the software support (with return-to-support) because we need the newest HPUX 11iv3 operating system, but someone has told me that I can get the server's firmware only if I have the hardware support too.

In the past the firmwares were available by patches - did this change? If I can download firmwares by patches then it will be enough to order the software suppot. Am I right?

Thanks for your help in advance,

Knd regards,

Laszlo

Lost cause disk?

Hi,

This is probably a lost cause disk issue but I may be lucky and someone in this forum might tell me otherwise

RX7620 has two internal disks on vg00. Root disk is fine, the disk with /opt is not fine

ioscan reports all ok c0t6d0 c3t6d0  both CLAIMED, c3t6 has the problem though as reported by lvm

LVM : Failure in attaching PV (64000/0xfa00/0x2) to the root volume group.

reconnect -r says not ok

I've tried reseating but getting to the end of things to try. In case it's just the disk label that's missing is there a way to get this back?
